I read this post http://bryce.vc/post/64889707700/most-people-wont#notes and everything became extremely clear to me. There are so many times when you don’t do what you want to, because believe it or not, you’re just lazy. You keep giving excuses and explanations to yourself, trying to make up for the laziness. But you know what, you either do it or you don’t.
There is no in between there.
There’s either laziness or this. Thinking to yourself, “I want to, but I don’t know how to.”
Well, just do. That’s the answer to your question.
Just start with doing it. You will get there eventually. Practice makes perfect, remember?
How often do you find yourself wanting to accept something, but just aren’t able to?
This time, just do it. Say this after me, ” I want to, and so I am. I’m accepting that z y z.. la la la.”
Say this to yourself right now.
Every time it’ll come back to you, you’ll have your answer ready. I wanted to, and so I did.
More than anything, this helps you stay focused, and you won’t lose track. You won’t get lost.
It’ll let you hold on to one perspective at least.
Isn’t that something nice? From having none, to having one : D
And more than anything, since you made the decision of doing it, you let yourself take control of your life.
So you won’t be able to put it on someone else, if it backfires on you.
Now as much as your lazy side would love it, blaming others for what we can’t bring ourselves to do is not nice.
Maybe this entire concept will work only partially. But you know you’ve been trying and that’s better than not having taken any step in the direction you want to go. Keep trying, even after you succeed.
And there’s no harm in doing that.
After all, don’t we learn as we experiment ?
Until next time : )
